PP known as Polypropylene or polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer. The density of PP is very low, it even is the plastic material with the lowest density. Most commercial PP is isotactic and has an intermediate level of crystallinity between that of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
PP is used in a wide variety of applications, including packaging, textiles, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers or automotive components. In 2007, the global market for polypropylene had a volume of 45.1 million tons, which led to a turnover of about 65 billion US-dollars.
Most of the PP is recycled. But it also has to be separated from other plastics like PET, PE or PS. TLT has invented special machines to help you with this. We developed a technology which works on the basis of difference of density.
Even PP and PE, which have a very small difference of density, can be sorted by our separation plants. Since more than 10 years TLT is engaged with the separation of secondary plastics. In addition to the separation technology special fluids with densities > or < 1 g/m3 have been developed as media for the separation of PP.
Forget about mixed plastic waste. With TLT it is possible to separate PP, PE, PVC, PS and other plastics. This separation technology, which works with the differences of density, has been evolved to one of the most successful and most effective separation systems.
